Labour In Northampton

The town of Northampton is separated into two parliamentary constituencies. If you live in the South East, South or West of the town, it’s likely you live in Northampton South. If you live in the North or North East of the town or the town centre, it’s likely you live in Northampton North.

In each of these constituencies, we have our own CLPs (Constituency Labour Parties), and parliamentary candidates.

If you’re already a Labour member you can get involved with your CLP by attending their AMMs (All Members Meetings) where you can make your voice heard and find out more about how to get involved locally.

Mike Reader is Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Northampton South.

Mike has a vision for Northampton – to make it greener, more prosperous and fairer.

Mike brings over fifteen years of experience working in the construction industry to bear as your parliamentary candidate, skilled in bringing different parties together to solve seemingly impossible problems, creating new jobs and business opportunities for small and medium sized businesses. He currently leads a team at an international consultancy and construction firm who design and implement campaigns to help governments achieve best value from their construction and infrastructure projects across the globe, from new railways in Canada to schools in Australia, to regeneration programmes in Greece.

Mike is internationally recognised as a leader in his field, having been named UK Young Achiever of the Year by Constructing Excellence in 2016 and a Global 40 under 40 leader by the APMP in 2020, as well as receiving the International Award for Excellence in 2022 from industry peers.  As a passionate campaigner and environmentalist, Mike is determined to bring new green jobs to Northampton, clean up our streets and solve the air pollution crisis in the town. 

Mike lives in Northampton, and as a local resident, is an active member of our community, already helping to make the town better.

Northampton North

Lucy Rigby is Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Northampton North.

Lucy is determined to secure a Labour Government that delivers jobs, investment and the quality public services that the town deserves, and that Britain so desperately needs.

Lucy is a competition lawyer and a partner in London firm Hausfeld & Co LLP. She has previously worked for Slaughter and May, the Office of Fair Trading, Which? and the United Nations Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. Lucy is listed in the Legal 500 as “an outstanding junior partner” and regularly speaks at conferences regarding competition law and collective redress.

Lucy is passionate about access to justice and she has been involved in the development of a number of law centres. She currently serves on the board of the Collective Redress Lawyers Association.
